Northwestern Tops Knights
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC women's soccer team was unable to come up with enough offense in a 2-0 loss to Northwestern Saturday.
The Knights were outshot 36-7 in the game, but were without several key offensive contributors.
Allison Snyder was sharp in goal for the Knights, stopping 15 of the 17 shots she faced, while her defenders were able to keep many of the shots from NWC from outside the box.
The Eagles took the lead in the 39th minute on a goal from Lindsay Halvorson, and then scored the insurance goal just two minutes into the second half to take command of the game.
Bethany Schultz and Emily Marggraf each had two shots for MLC.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 4-3 overall and 2-2 in the UMAC, while Northwestern improved to 5-3 on the season and 3-0 in conference.
MLC will return to action on Friday, September 30, when it hosts North Central in a double head scheduled to start at 2 p.m.
