Knights Roll Through Storm
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC women's soccer team dominated play throughout the game on the way to a 2-0 win over Crown Thursday.
MLC outshot Crown 34-3 for the game, with Bethany Schultz finishing with 14 shots by herself.
The Knights were held scoreless in the first half despite controlling play, but got on the board with seven seconds remaining in the half on a header from Lindsay Hahn off a corner kick by Schultz. The goal was Hahn's second of the season, and gave the Knights a 1-0 edge heading into halftime.
In the second half, the Knights tacked on an insurance goal when Hannah Janke scored her second goal of the season off a pass from Linda Kenyon in the 58th minute to give MLC the final margin of victory.
With the win, MLC improved to 4-2 on the season, including a 2-1 record in the UMAC. Crown dropped to 0-6 overall and 0-2 in league play.
MLC will return to action on Saturday, September 24, when it hosts Northwestern in game two of a double header scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
