Four Receive All-UMAC Honors in Women’s Soccer

ST. PAUL – The MLC women’s soccer team had four players receive all-UMAC honors Tuesday, as Hannah Mattek and Bethany Schultz were voted Second Team All-UMAC, while defenders Mirdana Pomije and Kelsey Mattek received honorable mention.

Bethany Schultz was one of two players named All-UMAC Second Team

Schultz led the Knights in goals (six), points, (15), shots (75) and shots per game (4.41) in 17 games, and also tied for the team lead with three assists. She led the conference in shots per game, and ranked second in shots.

Hannah Mattek was tied for second on the team with four goals, and also tied Schultz for the team lead in assists with three in 16 games.

Pomije and Kelsey Mattek both started all 17 games on defense for the Knights, helping the cut the total goals allowed from 50 in 2010 to 27 in 2011.

MLC also received the Team Sportsmanship award, while Hannah Janke was the MLC recipient of the Sportsmanship award.
