Women Picked Fifth in Preseason Poll

ST. PAUL, Minn. - The MLC women's basketball team was picked to finish fifth in the preseason poll voted on by the coaches in the UMAC. The Knights finished with 24 total points in the vote.

Women's basketball was picked to finish fifth in the UMAC

Defending champion Northland College finished first in the poll with four first place votes and 46 total points, and was followed closely by Northwestern with three first place votes and 44 total points. Rounding out the top four were Minn.-Morris and St. Scholastica with 36 and 30 points respectively.

Following the Knights in the sixth spot was Bethany with 23 points, including one first place vote, while Presentation and Crown rounded out the teams with 15 and seven points respectively.

MLC will begin its 2009-10 season on Tuesday, Nov. 17, when it travels to Buena Vista for a 7 p.m. tip.
