Offensive Struggles Lead to Loss to Wartburg
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC women's team saw its offense struggle in a 50-36 loss to Wartburg Friday night.
The Knights held Wartburg to 37.7 percent shooting and forced 20 turnovers, but shot 22.0 percent from the field offensively.
MLC trailed by seven at the half, having shot 25.0 percent from the field in the first half, but the offense never came around, as the Knights shot 18.2 percent from the field in the second half on the way to the 14-point loss.
Alex Anthon led the way for MLC with ten points, while Erica Babinec had nine points and a team-high 11 rebounds. Amanda Burk finished with eight points and eight rebounds.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 5-5 on the season, while Wartburg improved to 7-2.
MLC will return to action on January 10 when it hosts Bethany Lutheran College at 5:30 p.m.
