MLC Women Look to Advance in UMAC Tourney

NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College women's basketball team looks to advance to the championship game of the UMAC Tournament for the third straight season tonight when they play top-seeded Minnesota-Morris.

The MLC women will play at UMM in the first round of the UMAC Tournament

The Knights finished the regular season tied for third in the conference, and enter the tournament as the fourth seed, while UMM won the regular season conference title with a record of 13-1 in league play.

MLC and UMM met twice this season, with UMM coming away with a pair of wins, including a 71-55 victory in the season finale on February 22.

The Cougars won the first meeting 79-62 on January 31, with Leah Nass scoring a team-best 22 points in a losing effort for the Knights.

Nass led MLC in scoring in both contests against the Cougars this season, averaging 18 points per game. UMM's Kendra Wycoff led the Cougars in both games, scoring 21 and 18 points, respectively, in those contests.
