First Half Run Pushes Dubuque Past Knights
DUBUQUE, Iowa - A big run to end the first half led Dubuque past the MLC women's basketball team by a final of 87-52.
Dubuque broke open a 24-17 game 8:15 to play in the first half with a 26-4 run to open up a 29-point lead at 50-21 going into the half.
MLC shot 32.1 percent from the field and committed 14 turnovers in the half, and was also outscored 11-2 at the free throw line.
The Spartans continues their run to start the second half, building a 50-point lead at 80-30 with eight minutes to play with a 30-9 run in the first 12 minutes after the break.
Sarah Free led MLC with 17 points for the game, while Emily Boldt had ten points and added four blocks.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 1-7, while Dubuque improved to 2-6 with the win.
MLC will return to action on January 11, when the Knights travel to Bethany for the start of the conference season.
