Men Perform Well at Gustavus

ST. PETER, Minn. - The MLC men had 11 top ten finishers at the Lee Krough Invitational Saturday, led by Jacob Steinmetz and Andrew Loescher, who each ended the day with a second place finish, while Loescher also finished with a school record.

Jacob Steinmetz had two top 10 finishes at the Lee Krough Inv.

Loescher took second in the javelin, setting a new MLC record with a throw of 54.19 meters. He also performed strongly in other events, taking home ninth in the shot put.

Steinmetz finished second in the long jump, and also added a third place finish in the triple jump and an 11th place spot in the 400 meter run.

Ethan Wessel joined those two with top 10 finishes in both the long jump (seventh) and the high jump (eighth).

In the field events, the Knights had four other top 10 finishes, with Scott Zietlow and Jason Liebnow taking eighth and ninth, respectively, in the pole vault, while Ben Zietlow and Mike Pingel finished fourth and eighth, respectively, in the javelin.

Nathan Loersch rounded out the group of top finishers for the Knights, taking seventh in the 1500 meter run.

MLC will return to the track next Saturday (April 17), when they travel to the UM-Morris. The meet is scheduled to start at 11 a.m.
