Men's Tennis Sweeps Vikings
MANKATO, Minn. - The MLC men's tennis team swept Bethany 9-0 Monday.
In doubles action, the Knights won all three matches by the scores of 8-2, 8-1 and 8-1.
In singles, all six matches finished as straight set victories by the Knights. Paul Koester was his match in number two singles in straight sets 6-1 and 6-1, while Scott Henrich, Ben Nommensen, Russell Scoggins, David Marquardt and Lucas Schroeder also won their matches.
With the win, MLC improved to 6-7 overall and 6-3 in the UMAC, while Bethany dropped to 2-10 on the season and 2-8 in league play.
The Knights have one match to play before the conference tournament, which will be held tomorrow (Tuesday, May 1) against Northwestern at 3 p.m. The men's team has already clinched a spot in the postseason tournament, and is guaranteed a third place finish in the conference.
