NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's tennis team earned its first win of the season by the final of 6-3 over Minnesota Morris on Friday afternoon.

Justin Marshall helped the Knights to a pair of points with wins in both singles and doubles against UMM


The Knights took two of the three doubles matches, with the number two team of Micah Koelpin and Kris Kuschel won 8-4, and the number three team of Philip Schroeder and Justin Marshall won 9-8.

In singles, Koelpin, Marshall, Schroeder and Marty Johnston each won their matches to guarantee the Knights their first win of the season.

MLC improved to 1-4 overall and 1-2 in the UMAC with the win, while UMM fell to 0-4 on the season and 0-4 in league play with the win.

The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Saturday, April 12) when they host St. Scholastica in a match scheduled to start at 10 a.m.
