WINONA, Minn. - The MLC men's tennis team came up just short in the second match of the season, losing 5-4 to Edgewood College at the Winona Tennis Center Sunday.

David Marquardt won his singles match against Edgewood College

The Knights won the doubles competition, with the team of Scott Henrich and Paul Koester winning the number one doubles match 8-3, while Ben Nommensen and William Scoggins won the second match 8-6.

In singles, Henrich won in the number one match 6-3 and 6-2. David Marquardt won the other singles match for the Knights, taking the number five seeded match 6-3 and 6-2.

MLC will return to the courts on March 31 when it hosts St. Scholastica in a match scheduled to start at 3 p.m.
