Men Lose Conference Opener to CSS
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC men's tennis team struggled against defending conference champion St. Scholastica in a 9-0 loss Saturday in the first conference meet of the season.
The Knights lost the three doubles matches by the scores of 8-3, 8-0 and 8-1, with the top team of Scott Henrich and Paul Koester coming closest at 8-3.
In singles, not MLC player was able to win more than two games in a set, as all six matches finished in straight sets in favor of the Saints.
MLC dropped to 0-3 on the season and 0-1 in the UMAC with the loss, while St. Scholastica improved to 5-9 overall and 2-0 in league play with the win.
MLC will return to the courts on Tuesday, April 5, when it travels to North Central for a match scheduled to begin at 3 p.m.
