Men Finish Doubles at UMAC Tourney
MINNEAPOLIS - The men's tennis team had three doubles teams compete at the UMAC Tournament Friday at the Baseline Tennis Center, with all three teams reaching the semi-finals before losing.
Scott Henrich (Milwaukee, Wis./LPS) and Paul Koester (Milwaukee, Wis./LPS) were the Knights' representatives in the number one flight, winning their quarterfinal match by a score of 9-7 over the duo from Bethany before losing in the semi-finals to the team from Northwestern 8-4.
In the second flight, David Zuberbier (Appleton, Wis./FVL) and Ryan Obry (Eldorado, Wis./WLA) won their quarterfinal match 8-3, but lost in the semis to the team from Northwestern 8-1.
In the final grouping, Brian Gephart (Saint Joseph, Mich./MLHS) and Daniel Rick (La Valle, Wis./Wonewoc Center) won their flight three quarterfinal against North Central 8-5, but lost in the semi-finals to Northwestern 8-4.
The UMAC Tournament will continue tomorrow (Saturday, May 8) at the Baseline Tennis Center with the final rounds of singles action.
