ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team lost 3-2 in overtime goal Crown Friday.

Ryan Lemke scored two goals in an overtime loss at Crown


Ryan Lemke scored both goals for MLC, giving the Knights a 1-0 lead in the eighth minute off a Aaron Markgraf pass, and then tying the game with a header in the 74th minute off a pass from Stephen Roekle after the Storm had taken a 2-1 advantage early in the second half.

The two goals gave Lemke a team-high seven so far this season.

The two teams finished regulation tied 2-2, but the Storm finished things early in the overtime period when Truman Shetler scored unassisted in the 94th minutes to end the game.

The Knights finished with a 20-19 edge in total shots, and an 11-10 advantage in shots on goal. Lemke finished with a team-high eight total shots in the game.

In goal, Eric Hahn stopped seven of the ten shots he faced for MLC.

The Knights dropped to 4-10 overall and 3-6 in the UMAC with the loss, while Crown improved to 4-9 on the season and 3-6 in league action with the win.

MLC will return to action tomorrow (Saturday, October 19) when it travels to Minnesota Morris in a game scheduled to start at 2:15 p.m.
