MLC Men Fall 1-0 at BLC

MANKATO, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team lost 1-0 at Bethany Lutheran Thursday night.

The Knights outshot the Vikings 9-6 in the first half, but were unable to push anything over the goal as the game remained scoreless at the break.

BLC grabbed the momentum early in the second half, with Juan Garcia scoring in the 47th minute off a rebound in front of the goal to give the Vikings the only goal of the game and the win.

Eric Hahn stopped six of the seven shots he faced in goal for the Knights, while Ryan Lemke led MLC with four total shots and three shots on goal.

MLC dropped to 4-8 overall and 3-4 in the UMAC with the loss, while BLC improved to 7-4 on the season and 5-2 in league play with the win.

The two teams will meet again Saturday, October 12, at Knight Field, with the game scheduled to start at 2:15 p.m.
