ST. PAUL, Minn. - The MLC men's soccer team finished with a 1-1 tie at Northwestern Saturday.

Nathan Gurgel had a goal in a 1-1 tie at NWC

Nathan Gurgel scored the lone goal on the day for MLC, his third of the season, in the 28th minute of play to put the Knights up 1-0 at the time.

The Eagles tied the game in the 77th minute of action on a goal from Josh Franzen.

Northwestern outshot the Knights 17-9 overall, and 13-6 on net for the game. MLC goalie Ben Zietlow finished the game with 12 saves.

With the tie, MLC moved to 4-6-1 overall and 1-4-1 in the UMAC, while Northwestern moved to 5-5-2.

The Knights will return to the pitch on Tuesday, October 12, when they travel to Bethany for a 5 p.m. game.
