Men's Soccer Loses 5-0 to WLC
NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's soccer team lost 5-0 Sunday afternoon to Wisconsin Lutheran College.
The Knights played the Warriors close in the first half, trailing just 1-0 after 45 minutes and outshooting WLC 13-12 heading into the half.
WLC would take control in the second half, scoring in the 51st, 54th, 68th and 73rd minutes to put the game out of reach.
MLC finished with 11 shots on goal, with WLC goalkeeper Jon Stewart stopping ten of them before leaving with ten minutes left in the game. Stephen Roekle, Ryan Lemke, Nathan Graumann and Jacob Zietlow each finished with two shots on goal for MLC.
The Knights fell to 1-4 on the season with the loss, while WLC improved to 2-2-2 with the win.
MLC will return to action on Friday, September 20, when it travels to Northwestern for a game scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
