Men's Soccer Loses 3-0 to BLC
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC men's soccer team lost 3-0 Saturday to Bethany Lutheran College.
Bethany broke a scoreless tie in the final minute of the first half on a goal from CK Pock following a failed clear attempt by the Knights to give the Vikings the momentum heading into the half.
Pock was able to score again for the Vikings in the 69th minute off a cross from Joe Nuah, and then Nuah closed the scoring on a goal in the 73rd minute to give BLC the 3-0 win.
MLC was outshot 20-16 in the game, with the Vikings holding a 10-7 edge in shots on goal. Ben Zietlow saved seven of the ten shots he faced in goal for MLC.
Nathan Gurgel and Steve White each had four shots for the Knights.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 3-9 overall and 1-5 in the UMAC, while BLC improved to 4-7 on the season and 2-4 in league play.
The Knights will return to action on Thursday, October 13, when they travel to Northwestern to take on the Eagles in a 3:30 p.m. game.
