Men Lose 2-0 at BLC
MANKATO, Minn. - The MLC men's soccer team played evenly with Bethany for much of the game, but was unable to get any goals to show for it in a 2-0 loss to Vikings Tuesday night.
Shots were even most of the day, with Bethany outshooting the Knights 21-19 overall, and MLC holding an 11-10 edge in shots on goal.
The Vikings were able to beat MLC goalkeeper Ben Zietlow twice on the day, however, scoring the first goal in the 39th minute of play, and then the insurance goal in the 78th minute.
Stephen Roekle led MLC with five shots, while Steve White and Nathan Gurgel each had three shots on goal. Zietlow finished the game with eight saves.
MLC dropped to 3-12 overall and 1-8 in the UMAC with the loss, while Bethany improved to 5-9 on the season and 3-6 in league play with the win.
The Knights will return to action on Friday, October 21, when they host Northland in a game scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
