Men Fall in Overtime at UM-Morris

MORRIS, Minn. - The MLC men's soccer team scored a late goal to force overtime, but gave up a goal in the 108th minute of action in a 3-2 loss in double overtime to Minnesota, Morris.

Kaleb Buch scored a goal in MLC's OT loss at UMM

Ryan Lemke forced overtime for the Knights, putting a free ball home in front of the net in the 89th minute of play to tie the game at 2-2.

Kaleb Buch had the first goal for MLC, scoring on a free kick to tie the score at 1-1 in the 32nd minute, but the Cougars quickly responded with a goal to put them back ahead in the 36th minute.

The winning goal for the Cougars came on a free kick from Greg Borchers with 2:38 left on the clock in the second overtime.

MLC was outshot 25-15 on the day by the Cougars, who put 12 shots on Ben Zietlow.

With the loss, MLC dropped to 3-5 overall and 1-3 in the UMAC, while UM-Morris improved to 5-3-1 on the year and 4-1-1 in league play.

MLC will return to the pitch on Tuesday, October 5, when it hosts North Central for a 3 p.m. start.
