Men Fall at Crown 2-1
ST. BONIFACIUS, Minn. - The MLC men's soccer team allowed a pair of goals in the second half at Crown in a 2-1 loss Friday afternoon.
Kaleb Buch scored a goal for MLC in the 38th minute of play in the first half to give the Knights a 1-0 lead heading into the half. The goal was Buch's third on the season.
Crown tied the game nearly nine minutes into the second half on a goal from Jon Schultz, and then the scored the go-ahead goal in the 65th minute to get the final 2-1 margin.
MLC was outshot 25-8 overall, but goalkeeper Ben Zietlow helped the Knights hang around with ten saves. Buch and John Paustian accounted for MLC's three shots on net.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 4-6 overall, and 1-4 in the UMAC, while Crown improved to 3-4-1 on the season and 2-1 in league play.
The Knights will return to action tomorrow, October 9, when they travel to Northwestern for a game scheduled to begin at 2 p.m.
