Hansen in Third Place After Second Round of UMAC Championship
LAKE CITY, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's golf team finished day two of the three-day UMAC Championship at the Jewel GC.
In team competition, the Knights remained in sixth place despite shaving 17 strokes off Thursday's score, and has 685 total strokes through two days.
Josh Hansen continues to be near the top of the leaderboard in the individual rankings, backing up Thursday's 76 with a Friday round of 77. He currently sits in third place and trails tournament leader Austin Snow of Bethany Lutheran by only four strokes heading into tomorrow's final round.
Joel Sonntag shot 80 on day two, cutting eight strokes off yesterday's score and tying him for 14th place. Craig Wilke also rebounded from a difficult day one to shoot 85 Friday, while Jacob Biebert rounded out the scoring for MLC with a 92.
Bethany Lutheran currently leads the tournament with a total of 631, and also has the top two individuals in the tournament. Minnesota Morris, Crown, North Central and Northwestern round out the top five.
MLC will return to the Jewel tomorrow (Saturday, October 5) for the third and final round of the UMAC Championship.
