Golf Finishes Day One at UMAC Championship in Sixth Place

LAKE CITY, Minn. - The Martin Luther College golf team finished day one of the UMAC Championship at the Jewel GC in sixth place with a team total of 351.

Joel Sonntag shot 88 on day one of the UMAC Championship

First-year player Josh Hansen was the low individual finisher for MLC with a round of 76, good for second place in the individual competition.

Joel Sonntag shot 88 as the second finisher for MLC, while Jacob Biebert, Craig Wilke and Charlie Crass shot 89, 98 and 103, respectively.

Bethany Lutheran is the current leader at the three-day event with a team score of 320 after one day. Northwestern, Crown, Minnesota Morris and North Central round out the top five.

The Knights will return for day two of the event tomorrow (October 4) starting at 11 a.m.
