ST. PAUL - Martin Luther College linebacker Nick Kressin was named UMAC Defensive Player of the Week in football for his performance against Northwestern.

Nick Kressin was named UMAC Defensive Player of the Week

Kressin finished Saturday's game with nine tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one quarterback hurry, leading a defensive effort that held the Northwestern offense to 13 points on the day.

For the season, Kressin leads the Knights and ranks second in the UMAC with 36 tackles, and is also in the top five in forced fumbles (two) and tackles for loss (5.0).

Kressin and the Knights are on the road for the first time this weekend at Greenville, with the game scheduled to start at 1 p.m.
