The MLC football team was picked to finish second in the UMAC preseason poll voted on by the coaches in the conference.

MLC was picked to finish second in the UMAC preseason poll

The Knights, who won the UMAC North last season, finished 4-0 in division games last season, and 7-3 overall. This season, the north and south divisions have been combined into one conference of nine teams.

Greenville College finished first in the poll with 58 total points and five (of nine) first place votes, with MLC having 51 points. Northwestern and Westminster had 48 and 46 points, respectively, in third and fourth place. Westminster received three first place votes, while Crown received one first place vote.
