MLC Men Picked Third in UMAC Preseason Poll

last modified 2013-08-28 02:55 PM

ST. PAUL - The MLC men's cross country team was picked to finish third in the UMAC in the preseason poll released Wednesday afternoon.

The Knights welcome back their entire top seven from the team that finished fourth at the UMAC Championships in 2012. MLC will lean on sophomore Grey Davis, a high school cross country school record holder and All-UMAC performer in 2012 to pace the team and challenge the top performers in the conference. The Knights also return senior captains Ben Birner and Noah Willitz, while freshman James Schuette figures to lead the newcomers to the program.

MLC received 34 points in the poll, seven behind second place Minnesota Morris. St. Scholastica finished first in the poll with the maximum of 49 points (and all seven first place votes).
