Poor Shooting Costs Knights in Loss at Bethel
ARDEN HILLS, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's basketball team struggled offensively as Bethel University overpowered them in a 77-45 loss Saturday.
The Knights shot 26.7 percent from the field in the game, and made four of 29 shots in the second half as Bethel turned a 12-point halftime edge into the final 32-point margin.
Top scorers Galen Holzhueter and Luke Rothe were held in check, combining to score eight points. Todd Brassow led MLC with a career-best 17 points, and was the lone Knight to reach double figures offensively.
Bethel 47.3 percent from the field in the game, and also outscored the Knights by 12 from the three-point line and eight at the free throw line.
The Knights fell to 0-9 on the season with the loss, while Bethel improved to 7-2 with the win.
MLC will return to action on Thursday, December 14, when they host Dordt for a 7:30 p.m. game.
