MLC Men Lose against Wartburg
NEW ULM, Minn. - The Martin Luther College men's basketball team was unable to slow down the Knights of Wartburg College in a 78-60 loss Friday night.
Wartburg's size up front gave the Knights trouble to start the game, but Galen Holzhueter was able to keep MLC in the game with 20 first half points as Wartburg took a 41-31 halftime lead.
Wartburg was able to slow Holzhueter and the rest of the MLC offense in the second half, holding the Knights to 34.5 percent shooting after the break while Wartburg shot 62.5 percent from the floor on the way to the double digit win.
Holzhueter finished with a game-high 27 points to go with nine rebounds, while Luke Rothe and Todd Brassow each scored ten points for the Knights.
MLC fell to 0-5 on the season with the loss, while Wartburg improved to 3-4 with the win.
The Knights will return to action tomorrow (Saturday, December 7) when they host Central for a game scheduled to start at 4 p.m.
