Hot Shooting Eagles Roll Past Knights
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC men's basketball team ran into lights out shooting performance from Northwestern in a 95-56 loss Friday night.
The Eagles started the game 9-12 from beyond the three point arc, and finished the game 15-30 from distance. Northwestern finished the game shooting 52.2 percent from the floor, and also took good care of the ball, committing seven turnovers for the game.
The Eagles never trailed in the game, jumping out to a 9-0 start and finishing the first half with a 21-point lead at 50-29.
NWC would not allow the Knights to even start a comeback attempt, building the lead throughout the half until it reached 40 late in the game.
Justin Danell led MLC with 12 points and added seven rebounds, while Josh Danell finished with 11 points, seven rebounds and three blocks.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 0-16 on the season and 0-6 in league play, while Northwestern improved to 9-8 overall and 4-2 in the UMAC.
MLC will return to action on Saturday, January 28, when it hosts Crown for a game scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
