Early Run Leads Rams over Knights
MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - The MLC men's basketball team fell behind early and was never able to come all the way back in an 83-63 loss at North Central Tuesday night.
North Central took control of the game in the first half with a 12-1 spurt that erased an 8-7 MLC lead, and finished the half with a ten-point lead at 39-29.
The Knights were never able to get close enough in the second half to make a run, cutting the deficit to eight points several times, but never closer after the break as the Rams pushed the lead as high as 22 points on the way to the win.
The Rams finished the game shooting 54.1 percent from the field, while MLC shot 39.1 percent. The Knights also lost the turnover battle, committing 16 miscues to North Central's 12.
Kaleb Buch led the Knights with 13 points off the bench, while Justin Danell added ten points.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 7-15 on the season, while North Central improved to 10-11 with the win.
MLC will return to action Friday (February 18), when it hosts Crown for a double header of men's and women's basketball starting at 5:30 p.m., with the men tipping off around 7:30 p.m.
