Ziel, Holzhueter Receive UMAC Weekly Honors
ST. PAUL - MLC baseball players Jake Ziel and Galen Holzhueter were named UMAC Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively, for their play for the Knights down in Florida last week.
Jake Ziel was named UMAC Pitcher of the Week
Ziel was named Pitcher of the Week after throwing three innings in the team's season-opening win against John Jay. Ziel came in relief to throw three scoreless innings, striking out seven and allowing only two baserunners.
Holzhueter was the Knights' top hitter through the first three games, collecting six hits and three RBI to help the Knights to a 2-1 record during that stretch.
The Knights split a double header Monday to move their record to 3-2 to start the season, and will close their eight-game trip to Florida Wednesday (March 6) with a game against Penn State Behrend at 9 a.m.
