Saints Top Knights 14-4
NEW ULM, Minn. - The MLC baseball team fell behind early and wasn't able to come back in a 14-4 loss to St. Scholastica Saturday.
The Saints scored two in the first, four in the second, and five more in the fourth to jump out to an 11-3 lead through four innings.
Tyler Dorn got the start for MLC, going four innings and allowing 11 runs (nine earned) on 12 hits as he dropped to 0-1 on the season. Garrett Schoch pitched the final three innings for the Knights.
CSS outhit the Knights 14-5 for the game, and also took advantage of five MLC errors.
Aaron Stokke and Joel Hering each had two hits for MLC. Hering also had two RBI, while Stokke had one. Josh Schultz drove home the other run for the Knights.
With the loss, MLC dropped to 2-12 overall and 2-5 in the UMAC, while CSS improved to 17-4 on the season and 8-1 in conference action.
These two teams will meet again tomorrow (Sunday, April 17), when they play a double header at Mueller Park. Game one is set to begin at 12 p.m.
