Knights Drop Pair on Saturday
FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The MLC baseball team lost a pair of games on day two of its trip to Florida, losing 9-1 to Marywood Saturday morning, and then 13-1 to LaRoche Saturday night.
Making his first start of the season, Joe Janke went seven innings on the mound for the Knights in the loss to Marywood, allowing three runs (two earned) on four hits. He struck out five for the day, but picked up the loss.
At the plate, Greg Holzhueter, Joel Hering and Janke each had two singles against Marywood, while Ryan Schmeling added a double.
With the two losses, MLC dropped to 0-4 on the season.
The Knights will return to the diamond in Fort Pierce on Monday, March 7, when they face Lebanon Valley in a double header. Game one will start around 4 p.m. local time.
