Knights No Hit in Florida Finale
FORT PIERCE, Fla. - The MLC baseball team was unable to register a hit in a 13-0 loss to Alvernia in the finale of its season opening trip to Florida Tuesday.
MLC pitchers surrendered 15 walks in the game, helping Alvernia push 13 runs across on only seven hits for the game.
Joe Janke got the start and dropped to 0-2 on the season with the loss, allowing nine runs (seven earned) in 2.1 innings of work on five hits and four walks.
At the plate, the Knights were held hitless by Alvernia pitchers Brock Laubenstine and Mike Moran. Laubenstine picked up the win after striking out nine in six innings of work.
Aaron Stokke, Ryan Schmeling and Tyler Dorn each walked once in the game.
With the loss, the Knights dropped to 0-7 on the season. MLC will return to action on March 24, when it travels to Waldorf for a double header starting at 1 p.m.
