Baseball to Play Northland in Play-in Game

last modified 2013-05-08 09:24 AM

The MLC baseball team's hopes of reaching the UMAC Postseason Tournament remain alive, as the Knights will play Northland College in a play-in game on Thursday (May 9) night at 6 p.m. in Duluth, Minn.

MLC and Northland finished the season tied for fourth in the conference standings at 8-6. Several tie-breakers were still in play Tuesday in a double header between Bethany and Northwestern, but those two teams splitting those two games meant a play-in game was necessary.

Northland and MLC are familiar with each other, having played a double header on Saturday, May 4, with the two teams splitting the two games.

The winner of Thursday's game will advance to the conference tournament, where it would play top-seeded St. Scholastica on Friday, May 10, at 1 p.m.
